We had a guest speaker come to the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good to present on core teams, his book and more. It was an online conversation about organizing, core teams and community building. We invited author, pastor and organizer Terry Moe to join us and reflect on his book, The Bush Still Burns. He has done lots of thinking and teaching about how organizing connects with adaptive leadership and developed the Transformational Leadership Project.
A core team is a team of people, within a Calgary Alliance member organization, that is focused on how to apply the practices of community organizing within their organization.
Their purpose is to:
- Strengthen their organization and its mission.
- To connect the member organization to the work of the broader alliance.
- To maintain the membership, including dues, of the member organization.
