This page has been created to support the work of our leaders, organizers, and freshly onboarded members of the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good, as organizations join the Calgary Alliance and our shared work for the common good.

There are two ways to join the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good.

• As highlighted on our public-facing website, we are an organization that is made up of member institutions.
  • These are non-profits, civic organizations, schools, campus organizations, congregations, spaces of faith, unions and labour organizations.
  • We have come together to build a broad-based organizing alliance, to build relationships across our differences, to develop public leaders and press for positive change in our communities. And we can do that better together.

• During the pandemic, we expanded our work with one group of Calgarians who found themselves without an institution and isolated from a work, social or political community: and we invited them to participate with a home institution for them to join in our work.

  • However, this group is only one of the 30-some organizations that form the Calgary Alliance.

Membership - Packages and Files

Our organization only exists due to the leadership and support from our membership.

One aspect of this is financial: to allow for us to exist outside of the granting and donation environment. As such, we ask that each member makes a financial contribution each year in terms of dues. Below is a copy of our dues guideline.

As we develop, we continue to need to expand our dues base. Our guideline is for faith communities and non-profit members to contribute are dependant on their organization. Unions contribute $3-5 per member per year. If you are already contributing at a sustaining level, we thank you for your support.

If you are willing to move your dues closer to a sustaining level, it would be greatly appreciated as it will ensure the long-term strength and sustainability of the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good. The Calgary Alliance for the Common Good exists to strengthen its member organizations and to enable us to have an impact that none of us could have on our own.
